UK-based British Bathroom Company supply premium bathroom fittings and bespoke interior designs, with a delivery network through the UK and Europe. Known for their high-end products, British Bathrooms reported a fall in sales after offering a range of discounted, sale products.
They approached Blue Digital for our branding and website expertise, giving the site a new look which would revive their former luxury positioning, and meet their growth targets.
How we made a difference.
Understanding key audiences
Our first mission was to redefine what British Bathrooms stood for. We offered a brand workshop to identify the perfect ‘boutique customer’, which would impact our messaging and focus on promoting core products. These brand values would then be reflected in web design and user experience, offering a simple range of sophisticated, high-end bathroom fittings.
After determining British Bathrooms’ key customer segment, we investigated the customer journey. User experience testing revealed multiple issues including site speed and complicated conversion paths. With the customer experience in mind, we fixed these technical issues and streamlined the user journey.
21st Century design
The removal of these obstacles would lead to a more fluid, sophisticated site design. We implemented the new Magento 2 ecommerce upgrade, which would speed up load times and make purchasing easier, while also improving back-end functionality.
In the front end, we stripped back complicated design and refined transactional pages to reflect a high-end brand. In tandem, we optimised the site for all devices, focusing on quality over quantity.
Future Growth
To avoid any indexing issues, we migrated the old site onto Magento 2, thereby maintaining British Bathrooms’ search engine rankings.

The British Bathroom Company now benefit from a clean, user-friendly design that reflects their premium products. Product listings are displayed clearly using the intuitive Magento 2 system, which allows customers to specify their products based on their exacting needs.
With better security and faster loading times, The British Bathroom Company converts more users, and adheres to the latest Google user experience guidelines.
