Garbutt + Elliott are one of Yorkshire’s best known independent chartered accountants. Offering a wide range of accountancy, auditing and advisory services, the team wanted to get away from the stuffy ‘accountancy’ image. They came to Blue Digital to ‘put the fun back into accounting’, which we achieved with a new website and rebrand.

Becoming a brand partner
Garbutt + Elliott didn’t just want ideas: they wanted a creative partner. After shifting their strategies, they encouraged a creative culture that would welcome ideas from all stakeholders. We proposed a 30-hour monthly retainer that would modernise their brand. Liaising with all team members, we implemented changes such as a refreshed logo, approachable copy, and fearless printed assets.
The goal was to create a consistent brand message both internally and externally. Our monthly retainer allowed us to work on ongoing campaigns, giving the firm a new personality not seen in their competitors.
Taking it digital
These continual creative ideas culminated in a new look website. The fully responsive, mobile-friendly interface offers a people-centred approach, moving away from oversaturated corporate designs. Garbutt + Elliott wanted to give their clients the spotlight, showcasing their successes through an intuitive design.
We complemented the new website with a thorough technical SEO overhaul. Our SEO team successfully migrated the old site and managed to maintain Google rankings, while supporting third-party brand awareness such as Google My Business.
